I visited many polling stations at Hathungo and the neighboring regions on the day of elections. People were evidently excited about voting and lined up in front of polling stations at 7:30 in the morning. Voting started at 8:15 a.m. and long lines of voters could be seen extending outside polling stations. Some polling stations in Hathungo city had been deemed sensitive and rangers and police were deployed at them. But thankfully, the city remained peacful on the fateful day.
