NA 178 from Multan is the only constituency where all candidates have assets worth crores but former Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gillani stands out for being the least wealthy candidate. 

In total, seven candidates are contesting against each other from NA 178 constituency in Multan.

The former prime minister from Multan has assets worth of   7, 75, 32,162 rupees. He declared his property worth 5, 44, 15,241 rupees whereas he declared 1, 11, 89,621 as cash.

PTI’s Ibrahim Khan is the wealthiest among the candidates in this constituency with 83 crore worth which includes his property abroad.

An independent candidate Imran Shaukat is the second wealthiest candidate from this constituency with assets worth of 32 crores.

PML-N’s Syed Javaid Ali Shah is the third wealthiest candidate from this constituency amounting to 30 crores which include agricultural and commercial land.

Pakistan Siraiki Party candidate Allah Dita Nawaz has total assets of 14 crores 96 lac which includes agricultural land and cars.

Another independent candidate Zain Ali Shah has assets worth 13 crore which includes valuable furniture and agricultural land.

Makdom Javiad Hashmi had also submitted his nomination papers from this constituency and had declared assets worth of 13 crores, however, he couldn’t get the ticket from his party due to which he withdrew his nomination.

Syed Yousaf Raza Gillani is PPP’s candidate for this constituency who was the least wealthy in terms of assets out of all the candidates in this constituency.

According to the detailed assets description on the ECP website, the bank account of Syed Yousaf Raza Gillani has only thirty-one lac, one hundred and seventeen rupees. He has stated 48 lac worth of furniture and other household material in his nomination papers. He is also the holder of 89 canal 16 marla agricultural land worth of rupees 1 crore 17 lac.

The former prime minister showed a house worth of 63 lac rupees whereas he showed 1 crore 55 lac rupees worth of agricultural income. He showed 8 lac 67 thousand in 2015, 14, 35,500 in 2016 whereas in 2017 he paid 22, 90,500 rupees agricultural tax.

Yousaf Raza Gillani also had 355 acres land on his children including his daughters’ name.
